New Development Manager for Susan G. Komen® Northern and Central California
Sacramento, California – Susan G. Komen® Northern and Central California is proud to announce their newest team member—Erin Chandler. Erin has a passion for working with nonprofit agencies, and she will be assuming the position of Development Manager. Prior to coming to Komen, Chandler worked as a Community & Corporate for Relations Manager for The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Sacramento and Development Officer for Goodwill Industries of Sacramento and Northern Nevada. She brings multiple years of developing community partnerships, organizing fundraising events, and other fund development activities. Chandler represented the Boys and Girls Club in a nationwide spotlight video that aired on CNN. She has spearheaded a large number of fundraising events, some totaling over $300,000.
Chandler also brings a passion for funding development in the breast cancer arena because she has witnessed first-hand the impact of this disease. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when Erin was a late teenager. Since that time, she has watched her mother become a breast cancer advocate and has participated in many Susan G. Komen races with her mother. Erin states, “I’m truly excited and honored to work for an honorable organization such as Susan G. Komen Northern & Central California. I’m one of the blessed individuals that get to say that my time, choices, experience, and hard work saved a life today.” Erin knows the importance of finding a cure so that women, especially those who are may have barriers to services can survive and thrive. She has a BS in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. In addition, she graduated from multiple leadership programs such as the University of Michigan, School of Executive Leadership, and Sacramento Asian American Chamber of Commerce.
Kelly Mac Millan, the Executive Director of Susan G. Komen Northern and Central California, expressed her gratitude this week by saying, “Erin’s very strong background in development and passion for community work is a great asset for Komen Northern and Central California.” She then included, “I am excited to see the positive impact Erin will have in our community and with supporters and donors as we partner toward Susan G. Komen’s vital mission to save lives and end breast cancer.”
